Proverbs 25 with my summary

Proverbs 25

This chapter's theme borders on; Dealing and negotiating with others in their field and  Having a close relationship with others.

1  Here are some more proverbs by Solomon, which the men of Hezekiah, king of Judah, transcribed.

2  It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, and the glory of kings to investigate a matter.
[ God hides things from men and that make Him powerful whereas men who are king in different occupation master their profession and  that makes them powerful]

3  Just as the heavens are high and earth is deep, so the heart of a king is unfathomable. [ Heaven and heart are far from each other and you can't find where they stooped. Same way with any man of power. You can't fathom what they can do with their power)

4  Purge the dross from the silver, and material for a vessel comes forth for the silversmith. [ Important things are usually not visible until you remove something from them to reveal them or before people see their worth.]

5  Purge the wicked from the king’s presence, and his throne will be established in righteousness. [ Every man on earth has what it takes to live a rightful life. All they need is to change direction toward what is right]

6  Don’t magnify yourself in the presence of a king, and don’t pretend to be in the company of famous men,
[Don't try to belong where you are not truly regarded as high)
7  for it is better that it be told you, “Come up here,” than for you to be placed lower in the presence of an official. What you’ve seen with your own eyes, ( it is very bad for the  first impression you have on your potential customers to be low)

8  Don’t be in a hurry to argue in court. Otherwise, what will you do later on when your neighbour humiliates you?
(Don't start fermenting trouble with someone who knows you well, they will find faults as they are closer to you)

9  Instead, take up the matter with your neighbour and don’t betray another person’s confidence. ( instead, try to meet them one and one and let no other ear hear it)

10  Otherwise, anyone who hears will make you ashamed, and your bad reputation will never leave you.
( Hide your dirty linen by not trying to argue with someone who knows you well in the crowd)

11  Like golden apples set in silver is a word spoken at the right time. (Well-timed words can have an effect that makes the heart shine)

12  Like a gold earring and a necklace of pure gold is a wise reprover to a listening ear. ( Those who know the value of reprimand are as decorated as those wearing golden necklaces and earrings)

13  Like cold snow during harvest time is a faithful messenger to those who send him; he refreshes his masters. ( A faithful person keeps those who he deals with happy )

14  Like clouds and winds without rain is the man who brags about gifts he never gave. (Don't try to promise your customers a gift you can't provide. You would seem paper weight to them if you fail on your promise )

15  Through patience a ruler may be persuaded; a gentle word can break a bone. ( Any man that rules his domain can only be persuaded with patience. With a gentle word, you can get them to yield)

16  If you find some honey, eat only what you need. Take too much, and you’ll vomit.
(Don't consume a thing much because of how much it tastes. Always exercise self-control no matter how a thing delight the senses)

17  Seldom set foot in your neighbour’s home; otherwise, he’ll grow weary and hate you. (Don't start visiting people anyhow because they live near you. If you want to make your relationship interesting, don't go there often)

18  A club, a sword, and a sharp arrow— that’s what a man is who lies about his neighbour.
( A man who says a lie about his neighbour knowing fully well, he is the only witness and trusted ally. That person is like an arrow.)

19  A bad tooth and an unsteady foot— that’s what confidence in an unreliable man is like in a time of trouble.
( A man who can't be relied on is a trap to trust in days of trouble)

20  Taking your coat off when it’s cold or pouring vinegar on soda— that’s what singing songs does to a heavy heart.
( A heavy heart needs calm words and patience, not a song)

21  If your enemy hunger, give him food to eat; and if he thirsts, give him water to drink. ( Pay wickedness with kindness)

22  For you’ll be piling burning coals of shame on his head and the LORD will reward you.
( if you do this, you will be making their wickedness hard for them to bear and then you get your reward from God)

23  The north wind brings rain, and a backbiting tongue an angry look. ( As the rain comes from the North wind, so is gossip to anyone. It angers anyone)

24  It’s better to live in a corner on the roof than in a house with a contentious woman. (You should live safely in a tight space than have a house with a woman filled with discord)

25  Cold water to someone thirsty— that’s what good news from a distant land is. ( Good news coming from afar is like a soothing taste to our tasty lips. When dealing with others from afar, be truthful to them )

26  A muddied spring or a polluted well— that’s what a righteous person is who compromises with the wicked.
(  A man who lives right when they err is like clean water   polluted)

27  To eat too much honey isn’t good, and neither is it honourable to seek one’s glory. (Don't try to feed your senses more than is needed, and also don't try to feed your ego more than is needed)

28  Like a city with breached walls is a man without self-control. ( A man without self-control is like sleeping outside in the middle of the night, you don't know when you will be attacked)
